Hype because they are a NY team.That summarizes this team. They are weak in every part of the game. Optimism is a good human quality, but it has to include a dose of realism or it serves no good at all. Starting pitching is shallow.Defense is adequate, but thats a fact on most MLB teams.The outfield has too many question marks.Managing can only go so far and that will save this team from embarrassing themselves ,but that's it.
As an aside ,their team reminds me of many past Expos teams where the fans were very optimistic but they were the only ones who were.Its that human problem of being unable to see the truth in something we love.Thats okay because noone likes an empty stadium.
